Unmitigated Fury

Did you know that to be considered for the $170 million in "Abstinence-Only" sex education funding you legally CANNOT teach a curriculum that informs students how to properly use contraceptives. In fact, the only thing you can say about contraceptives is what the failure rates are.

Be sure you know what lies are being told to your children.

What's most frightening to me about this study is how it "teaches" that a woman's role is to be the family care-giver while the man's role is to be the bread-winner. That a woman's greatest need is to have her financial needs met and a man's greatest need is admiration / professional success. THEY ARE TEACHING THAT TO CHILDREN. And people think I'm overreacting by saying George Bush is bad for this country. These are Federally Funded programs that are accountable to no one. OUR COUNTRY IS IN SERIOUS TROUBLE. I more than resent someone trying to shove me back into Donna Reed's apron. And leave birth control legislation to the people doing the birthing.

I absolutely agree. I have no idea what they are trying to return to anyway. The fifties were not all happiness and glory. It was PROPOGANDA to try and get the now-empowered women in the workforce back into their homes to let the men have those jobs. You can't go from Rosie the Riveter to Donna Reid in reality, and they tried to push that so hard that people apparently still beleive that Joan Cleaver was a real person. I guarantee you she was not.
